swells - i didn't always agree with him. i would ALWAYS read him. the voice of my teenage music-obsessing years.
farah - ah, you should have seen the results of my teenage attempts at your hair. doh.
jacko - strangely unexpected. totally mental. responsible for some of the best pop ever. i'd been debating getting a ticket for his shows.

my big jackson memory is of thriller. my dad would never let me watch it. i was 11 / 12. he thought i'd be scared. well. one comic relief, i snuck down to watch telly quietly in the backroom when i was meant to be asleep. and watched the whole thing.

i couldn't sleep for days.

(these days i can't sleep because i'm picturing pbh in my head. maybe.)

perhaps the idea of camping at the same time as glastonbury was a little foolish, thinking about it now.

eta: hahahah i've just remembered getting totally obsessed about michael jackson pre gcses, reading EVERY SINGLE autobiography i could get my hands on, and working him into every essay! i wonder if i still have any....

i suppose i should belatedly mark this news.

though i've never been of the ilk to believe he's been hiding in goa, or whatever, i did harbour random fantasies of recognising a john doe that'd been brought into my casualty (when i was still a medic in training) and becoming great friends.
