shewhowell here's me back from vegas safe and sound....... though actually i've been back for several days and just too tired/incompetent to get to a computer.
i like foreign places. i dont like the physical travelling though. and i dont think i should actually fly very often if ever. i managed to work myself into such a state before flying that i was physically almost sick. ugh. must learn to relax more and not think about crashing into the sea and all the doors sticking and being eaten by sharks scenarios.
vegas itself is a beautiful place were a gal like me would love to live, if a bit hot. neon everywhere and the bizarrest of the bizarre shaped hotels of rah! and of course the ever present slot machines. i can proudly say i didnt lose money, tho i came preeeeeeetty close after gambling away my winnings.
briefly then i have now visited an elvis and liberace museum (oh! my! gawd! the glitter! the frills! the gorgeous pianos :)), seen the hoover dam in all its immense glory, visited almost ever casino on the strip, been to a vegas club to see some bands (the lee county killers are a top tip.... the white stripes if they werent siblings and both male and rocking like mothers in a rockabilly metal way????)saw penn & teller live (comp*there's no place like home.... there's no place like home...*lete with the magic bullets trick), met aforementioned magicians, met the great grandson of Frank Baum (wizard of oz writer) and met a ferengi in quarks bar.
7th heaven i tells ya!
oh yeah and the wedding was ace too. heh. married by elvis impersonator who sang 'are you lonesome tonight','love me tender' and 'viva las vegas!' during which we all danced.
*sigh*
would have been good to be there longer but finances must.....
have 5 whole rolls of film to bore people with. some of the photos are ace tho i failed to get pics of any of the bizarre fat people whose fat distribution was such that it gave them two bottoms, one front and one back. (yes i do have some qualms about candid snapping people i dont know in an efil way.......)
came home to find my brother had been viciously attacked outside the litten tree in croydon *****BOYCOTT THIS PLACE!!!!!***** by off duty policemen. nice. poor lad, he wouldnt hurt a fly :(
anyway.
disjointed or not i shall be going home now cos i'm hungry oh yes i am........
