there seems to be a bit of emo angst flying around at the mo, and general disillusionment with livejournal, of the 'what is the point' nature.
i keep my journalfor barry and dan to use in complex goffic foreplay rituals so i can remember.
i can't write wonderfully (no actually, strike that, i can, but that is not for here......) but i also can't remember wonderfully (this bit is true). this is my version of a paper diary, typing is quicker and easier than writing things down, and the secret stuff is less easy for people to stumble upon.
oh yes, there is secret stuff on here ;P
tis also useful for help and advice and keeping in the loop etc etc
and the good old being nosey into other people's lives. i am constantly surprised by what is put up as public.
anyway, all i wanted to say, no matter what, i like my journal, it keeps me occupied at work and i am going to keep it :)

Date: 2005-01-20 11:33 am (UTC)I've started to use mine for aimless rambling really- I think January Emo has set in across the country meaning that EVERYONE's LJ is either emoblatherings or metaphysics. However, I keep a paper diary as well, which I save for outbursts about my love life and/or work life and/or my relationships with my friends too angry, self-indulgent or melancholy to go in a public place. There's some stuff that isn't for LiveJournal. At the end of the day, my life is pretty well documented and if I didn't do both then yes, I would only forget.
I'm not sure what the point of all this is, but basically: I agree with what you say. Except I don't do private/friendsonly entries.

and friends stuff is used for things i shouldn't be saying that could get me in trouble if randomly googled for example.....
Fair enough.
Date: 2005-01-20 11:56 am (UTC)I meant your diary as opposed to your friends list- not sure if that was obvious in the original post.

By "yours" I meant "your diary", not "your friends list".
Esyltt likes being a creature, and I should know, because I've read her diary.
