and they will never tear us apart......
Nov. 15th, 2004 09:23 am.....and so a quiet weekend became rather busy....
friday saw a flying visit to the wonderful
bmovie where i was not feeling hugely up for a night out or indeed sociable at all, apologies all. chatted to various lovely people, danced a little, remembered i actually like ministry, and left in time for the last tube home. what's this? i hear you say.... moderation?
yes.
and because saturday was up early and away to coventry by means of the national express. tried to avoid talking to the obvious wrestling geek on the bus in front of us. mostly succeeded, despite his efforts..... got to coventry to find mike and louisa and joe and departed for a pub. which repeatedly failed to serve food, so i *had* to eat cider. found a pub that did, although there was a sad lack of cheese in my cheese sarnie. hmph. left louisa and mike to go off on a random hot date/booty call and home respectively, and went to watch some boy wrestling.
why did noone tell me the place was a freaking ice rink? ack cold feet. had to drink more booze to combat this freezing thing. num num. tasty. more. *ahem*
i have to say it wasn't my favourite fwa event ever, some of the feuds and gimmicks are wearing a little thin, and
jonnystorm didn't even do any wrestling (although HURRAH!!!! he is back!!! goldrush? i think so....) jodie fleisch was clearly touched by the sheer amount of welcoming him back. birchill (departing for actual wwe) didn't get a proper send off. i suspect he may be around at goldrush also. girls tried to tell me hade vansen was fancy. a small child shouted very loudly in my ears. noone broke any noses. i invented genius chants but did not have the lung power to start them properly (as bodyguards were forced to leave ringside="wheres ya minions gone?" and as jack xavier was being dragged around the ring by means of a belt round his neck="michael hutchence")
i am not sure i like the skydome as a venue. yes, i think they probably did well on the tickets, and there were far more people than expected, but it is huge and cold and it takes a lot of noise to sound good...... or maybe i am being the wrestling equivalent of an indie snob......
ho hum.
anyway, late back and nightbuses left me exhausted sunday, and it was all i could do to feed some cats and look around the house that will be ours before collapsing unconscious feeling a big blah. watched the film 'subway' which is very bizarre, and attempted to cut out some bits of fabric for a little project.
what i thought was a simple skirt is in fact a dress. hmm. this may take some dubious bodgework. we shall see. i am also double booked this weekend. man! complications. complications.
everyone now knows i am leaving. i have the fear!
