i remembered what angered me so yesterday. not just 2012. not just ken's jew-gate.
it was in a phonebox, admittedly full of adverts fornubile young ladies wrinked old prunes. scrawled everywhere in black marker pen - "wh0res spread disease".
rubbish.
'johns' spread disease. y'know, the twat that will pay extra not to use a condom. i mean, it is YOUR responsibility to protect yourself, and if you are so stupid as to go and sleep with someone you don't know and not whack on a rubber in this day and age, you are a fool, and deserve everything you get. but if you then scrawl all over phone boxes through bitterness, you p1ss me off.
(can you tell i am not in ranty mood today?)
i agreed with a letter in metro over the last couple of days. why should we londoners have to wait until there is some stupid sporting event to have decent transport upgrades? take the IOC on a commuter hour journey. that'll show 'em the truth. not the spangly jubilee line either. how about the northern line?
oh, i don't know, do i.
and all this livingstone fandango. i have to admit, i think i almost agree with him. it isn't like he said "oh you're like a concentration camp guard, that's an ace thing, go and kill some jews" is it. nazis are the boogiemen of our time. he was just saying that that reporter was being horrible. and i doubt it was deliberately aimed at him *because* he was jewish. however i am not jewish, and probably don't understand. ok, it wasn't particularly well thought out, but i have said similar things while sober. without knowing anything about people's religion. i admit there is a valid point to be made about position and influence, but also that there is such a thing as milking a story.
i also like the fact ken has refused to apologise because he doesn't mean it, although what i think he should do now *is* apologise because we all know he doesn't mean it, so he hasn't really backed down. that sort of stubbornness fascinates me.
