May. 6th, 2005 10:56 ami overslept this morning. my fringe is misbehaving. but more importantly, it is friday, and bright and lovely outside, and i almost called in sick this morning. i think right now, i should have.
[Poll #488781]
so. i didn't go to an election party last night. no no no. i did something FAR more exciting than that.
yes. a meal and the theatre. in fact, a scuzzy meal and theatre for cheap deal.
so i wasn't expecting much from livebait. but i was happily surprised. included in the offer were OYSTERS. words cannot express how much i love oysters at teh moment. although i always feel so neanderthal while eating them. ugh ugh. raw fish fish. open shell. swallow.
so that was good.
as was the free bread and salmon paste stuff.
and my main (blackened cajun salmon) was deliciously melt in the mouth. this is why i can't cook properly. i can do adequate, i can't make things melt
but yes. yum.
the show was the producers and it was FANTASTIC!!!! ott gays? dancing gay nazis? ack, why have i waited so long to see this?!! it has been an aeon since i saw the actual film, but i swear, this musical is in precisely the same mood and rolls along magnificently, with plenty of laughs. and the whold springtime for hitler sequence.... *Swoons*
i didn't realise the cast had changed, so we didn't get lee evans, which is a blessing, as i can't stand him, and a curse, as i think he may well have pulled off the physical stuff better. having said that, john gordon-sinclair(???!!!) was most impressive! seeing him in somewhat of a new light. and he can sing and dance (not THE BEST, but well enough). highlight however was fred applegate, although i have no idea who he is he was ace.
edit:and james dreyfuss! how can i forget? not being irritating, but having the Best. Part. Ever. playing an overly camp gay guy, yes. how did you guess?
a seat up in the balcony (you can see pretty much everything) is a tenner. get one. NOW!
