it was a cold and stormy night, and the captain said to his mate, mate, tell us a yarn and the mate said it was a cold and stormy night, and the captain said to his mate, tell us a yarn.....
last night i went wandering around the streets of london for a couple of hours in teh company of
green_badger, an elderly kind-of-thesp and a bunch of tourists, and rather fine it was too!
despite the filthy cold wet weather our ghosts of the west end walk was entertaining and informative, and the dark and cold probably even added to the experience. i walked down streets i did not know existed, and loved the bias of the theatre tales he obvioulsy loved to tell. and how have i never seen st james's palace before??
we rounded off the evening with a couple of medicinal glasses of red wine to fight of the cold, in a quiet little pub near st james's park.
i fully intend to make a habit of going on these walks, gentle exercise, no overt drunkeness and interesting london history - i am in ♥ with the city!
next up - ghosts of soho? ghosts of the city? the ripper walk? mayfair?
something!
