Thank you to the lovely person who bought me more paid account! You actually read all my rubbish yapping too! Doubleplus good, have some respect.

I am listening to Paulie on Radio 2 (thanks Jo!) being interviewed in between tracks from the new album. I don't think it's going to be as good as Chaos and Creation but it doesn't sound woeful. However the song I have heard previously I like, maybe it's a grower. I can't possibly have 2 decent albums by 2 of my favourite artists in the same year, can I?

[Poll #996899]

Oh P.S. - I'm not ignoring anybody, comment notifications are still bvggered for me.

P.P.S. Mr Bellamy (?) is ACE! Nice work, Macca!

P.P.P.S. Boo, no tour. But secret London gig! MAN! If any of you get detail of this you HAVE TO TELL ME thankyoukindlyyou'realllovelyxxx

Today, I need brain floss for: watching a walrus masturb@ting. Thanks WOW, no, really. (Only suckered in because they mentioned Paulie and Heather.)

***

Last night, a spot of Doom, followed by tasty eggs, disturbing House and last week’s Doctor Who, which was nowhere near as bad as I’d been led to believe, and indeed had several moments of laugh out loud genius. I *really* like the way Martha works with Tennant’s Doctor, she’s ace. And not just because I recognise a lot of myself in her, and I’m notoriously narcissistic. Oh no. Only less black.*

***

Tonight, I appear to be going to see Ian Svelonius (sp?) doing a reading, where I shall feel like a complete fraud, having never even *heard* the Make Up. As far as I know. This shall be followed by Heavy Trash, where I shall more’n likely feel filthy, and have lots of fun, and then B Movie, where I haven’t been for far too long, and shall likely feel rather inebriated. And overexcited. You have been warned!

[Which means I am missing the holy triumvirate of Ugly Betty, Derren Brown and Peep Show on t’telly. Boo!]

[Poll #965711]

Edit (for Bec ;) ): MILF = Mum I'd Like (to) Fvck. And WILF, apparently = What (was) I Looking For. On the web. I just like the sound of the words they make!

Phoenix Wright is an idiot!

The most annoying thing about this game is how easy it *should* be. I’ve known how the murder I’m currently playing was committed since stupidly early into the stage, and (I think!) who masterminded it and why since before it happened.

But I can’t get through it! I know where the blinking clues actually are, but can’t get to them without talking to the right person who’ll then point me to where I know the clue is ALREADY DAMMNIT and miraculously I’ll now be able to see something I couldn’t see before EVEN THOUGH I LOOKED.

I find this *incredibly* frustrating, obviously. And I’m not sure if this makes me excellent at playing the game, because I know what and who and why and how, or completely rubbish, because I can’t get there. Am I superbly blessed with logic, or making great leaps of faith?*

The game is far too linear for my brain.

Either way, Phoenix is an IDIOT I tell you, an idiot.

***

Last night, post Doom, I sat in front of the glorious combination of House, ER and Boston Legal whilst playing the aforementioned game.

It is *wrong* to find aged, bloated James Spader (and to a certain extent William Shatner, blimey!) attractive, isn’t it? I suppose I actually mean Alan whatsit and Denny Crane, which is a different thing. Man, Boston Legal :)

***

This weekend looks like containing a healthy mix of dinner, karaoke, doctor who, indie clubbing, painting & decorating and children’s comedy. Thank goodness I don’t have to work, mwahahaha.

***

And because I’m facing a long Friday with no company (again!), here is an attention seeking poll.

[Poll #956885]

*I did this with House last night as well, the conclusion was OBVIOUS duh brain. Either I’m a fantastic diagnostician or I watch too much telly. I think I watch too much telly.

Over the last few days I have noticed a quite a few PMT-esque posts from various places. And got a little bit curious, thinking maybe everyone was getting all synch-ey via the internet. This amused me. So here is a Bad Science Poll to kind of find out. Please do not be filling it in maliciously. I'm genuinely intrigued.

maybe i should cut this for tmi? i dunno! )

Also! Bonus meme nonsense because [livejournal.com profile] my_name_is_anna answered this for me:

Leave a comment here and I'll:

1) Tell you why I friended you
2) Associate you with a song/movie
3) Tell a random fact about you
4) Tell a first memory about you
5) Associate you with an animal/fruit
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you
7) In retort, you CAN IF YOU LIKE spead this disease in your LJ (dont bother if you have already)

Don't be surprised if all the answers feature gin.

oh lord, i forgot people actually reply when there's a meme a foot. i'll get around to it. but can tell you 1)will usually be 'cos you friended me first' and 5) always ends up 'a cat'!

a 3 part entry, this one. First, a ramble about music, not really important and hidden under a cut )

And now on to the meat of the post. Well, maybe the quorn or something less substantial. I was having a conversation with people (you can probably guess who they were) and we started arguing about who was the best member of We Are Klang, top comedy sketch troupe. I can't seem to find anything useful on the internet to link to; this is their myspace; here's a thing from Chortle.

And a breakdown of the components to assist you. They're all fab, but this must be decided!

Greg Davies (this is his face) is the hugest man I have ever seen in my life. Really. He looks like an oversized Rick Mayall, and yet is strangely attractive. He's the one wot plays the guitar and is Darren Chillblain.

Marek Larwood (this is his face) is obviously the funniest of the bunch wrt voices and faces and y'know, being funny. Saying "that's when I was born" in the right voice in the right company will always illicit a chuckle. He's also a scary dancing horse. And far too excited-looking during 'spunk storm'. Ahem.

Steve Hall (this is a not-very-flattering pic of his face) can be found planted in the audience as a singing Jew, and more often with his bum or winkie out on stage. You've surely seen Gary Mabbot by now.

[Poll #884449]

NB - If you've never seen We Are Klang you really really ought to. They were, quite literally, and according to their own blimmin' song, the best act at The Fringe this year.

*****

Watched Walk the Line last night. I thought this was supposed to be a good film. It was rubbish. Seriously. I may even agree with D that The Meatloaf Story as shown on daytime Hallmark TV is better. And not just because I ♥ Meatloaf.

Tried the new Domino guest pizza - The Meltdown as well, Level 2 (extra fresh red chillis). It was bl00dy lovely, and made the film more bearable.

The iPod was in fine form this morning. On the bus it gave me 'She Bikini', and made me look like a mental in front of everybody with an ill-timed snicker. It then followed it up with 'If I Loved You' from Carousel, and 'Let 'Em In' by Macca. Marvellous.

I love Carousel. So so much. This is what is stuck in my head )

Anyway, talking of Macca, as I was, the lovely [livejournal.com profile] angelv pointed this out to me. Buy Paulie's classical work from a particular shop and be guaranteed to meet him. OH MY LIFE!!!!!! I'm not sure whether I want to though. So livejournal, I am asking your help. POLL TIME!

Last night we watched Nightwatch, which is an alright film, with some good ideas and fun special effects. The trailer made it look marvellous, it didn't quite live up to expectation.
